SCHOOL REPORT ON 29TH NOV
INTRODUCTION
Hearty welcome to one and all. I would like to thank you all for responding to our invitation and gracing this occasion. We deem it our good fortune to be a part of this August assembly and take pride in presenting our school the first annual report to our distinguished personalities and dear parents gathered here. An eventful year filled with aspiration that has made us to march forward with ambition to excel in all our endeavors. Following religiously its glorious vision St. Theresa’s secondary school imparts value based education to the children in sanathnagar and surrounding areas. Our increased above 700 in these 3 years. This year school had upgraded class 8th. Now our school fully operational till class 8th.
ACADEMICS:
The world of learning has under gone radical Changes in this challenging environment of digital explosion and knowledge, we realized with the content. Our
Biggest achievement in the current year could excel to the maximum to the continuous and comprehensive evaluation process from classes I to VIII. The child’s academics perform mances are measured in a series of formative and summative examination with lot of emphasis on learning through doing process. Our school conducts all examinations in a CBSE board format were questions papers are design by multiple teachers. So that every time a child writing exam facing a new challenge on his or her own, without any help from their teachers. Our 8th were given the opportunity to participate in National aptitude test in our school conducted by T,I.M.E also V, VI, VII students were given the chance to participate in the interschool quiz competition which was held at Hyderabad Public School organized by Saevus – Eco achiever.
FACULTY
Our school has an excellent band of 37 young energetic, dedicated, creative and highly qualified teachers and twelve committed non-teaching and supporting staff. All that our institution has achieved so far is the result of the team spirit shown by the staff. The management conducts regular staff meeting to discuss various points pertaining to curricular, co-curricular and extra –curricular activities. Together we move towards the fullness of life. The management has taken efforts to enrich the staff to excel in teaching by organizing seminars and orientation programmes regularly. So this year on 30th may an orientation program for the staff on the theme “positive affirmation” was given by Sri. A. Raja Babu and Sri. Kameshwar Rao.
NEW INITIATIVES OF THE YEAR 2019 :
- Realizing the importance of music, the school has introduced music education by conducting classes in instrumental music and band.

INSTALLATION CEREMONY
“Education makes people easy to lead, but difficult drive, easy to govern but impossible to enslave”.
Holistic growth is the hallmark of St. Theresa’s secondary school. Much care is taken by our school to inculcate values and leadership qualities in as in order mould us into disciplined and worthy citizens and reliable future leaders. The first formal installation ceremony for this academic year was held on 10th of July. It was a great day for the school leaders to take oath of loyalty and promise to shoulder the responsibilities of their school for the year 2019-2020. The chief guest Rev. Fr. Lancy Dias S.J congratulated and encouraged the leaders expressed that we are really fortunate enough to be a part of St. Theresa’s Secondary school.
CELEBRATIONS
“It is said that celebrations refresh our tired heart, minds & charges us with enthusiasm and vigour.” Celebrating events and National festivals has become an integral part of learning and building a strong between the students and to bring them closer to traditional & cultural belief.
DR. MARY GLOWREY’S BIRTHDAY’
Every year it’s a custom to celebrate the birthday of Dr. Sr. Mary Glowrey one of the pioneers of J.M.J Congregation, on the 23rd June we celebrated her birthday, and joyously paid homage to her – “a special creation of God”
INDEPENDENCE DAY
On 15th August, the 71st Independence Day was celebrated with patriotism and honor, Mr.Kamaleshwar Rao former dean of Kakatiya University was the chief Guest of the day. He hoisted the flag and inspired the whole gathering with his valuable and mesmerizing message inculcating in students the values of brotherhood, justice, honesty and truthfulness.
Respect and dignity for shaping one’s personality. Above all to serve the nation by giving oneself after the model of great leaders of our country. He distributed the sports Prizes to the winners who participated in various games from classes KG to Upper primary.
ENVIRONMENT DAY
Our school also grooms the students to become more nature friendly. This year on 20th of August, we had a grand celebration of Haritha Haram that is Environmental day, to inculcate a strong environmental consciousness in the students. The Chief Guest of the day was Rev.Fr. Maria Joseph Israel S.J. Our school staff and students are putting efforts to reduce the usage of plastic to make the school a free plastic zone. Our students have taken Eco pledge, Eco rally as a part of campaign to reduce and recycle the plastic.
YOGA DAY
International yoga day was celebrated on 21st of June, to bring awareness on the significance of yogic execises and to inculcate the regular practice of the execises in the students. We were taught a few simple Asanas that relieve us from stress, strain, fear which would enable us to lead a happy life. We also practice meditation every day, which increases concentration & memory power.
TEACHER’S DAY
According to our Indian culture teachers are still held in great honor and respect. They are the foundation of all knowledge and source of inspiration. On 5th September i.e., the teacher’s day, we the students left no stone unturned in honoring our beloved teachers. The Chief guest Mrs. V.Vaishala inspired us and also Smt. Laxmi Prathap Reddy Garu as a gesture of respect to teachers by gifting a token of love to all our teachers.
We conducted several games for the teachers. Our H.M Rev.Sr.Sujatha was officially awarded for the Best H.M in Hyderabad district & and was honoured by the D.E.O Smt.B.Venkata Narasamma Garu, Sri.Md.Ali Garu, Sri Talasani Srinivas Yadav Garu and Deputy Collector of Telangana. In-service Training Programme was conducted in our school by E-DAC publications on activity based learning for all the CBSE teachers.
PATRONESS DAY
On 1st of October, we joyously celebrated the feast of our school patroness St.Theresa of Child Jesus.
FOUNDER’S DAY
“With the Lord of the world for the world of the Lord” was quoted by J.M.J society’s founder Rev.Fr.Mathias Wolff S.J his Heavenly birthday was celebrated in our school on 31st of October with pomp & pleasure as the real Founder’s Day.
As the staff and students came forward with doubled vigour and pleasure to celebrate our founder’s day there was a festive mood everywhere. Our principal Rev.Sr.Sujatha graced the occasion on that day and was really taken up by the spirit with which the staff and students took an active and meaningful part in the celebration.
CHILDREN’S DAY
Children are the valuable assets of the nation and only hope of the tomorrow. If we want the nation to be strong and progressive then we must provide good growth opportunities and education to our children. Well nurtured children make the nation strong and sound. Perhaps, every child has to remember that they are the future of the nation, and so they should imbibe the values of discipline, sense of order, cleanliness, ambition and much more. These values will make a good citizen out of a child. On this special day we invited our school pupil leaders as our chief guest. The leaders gave away the prizes for the students for different competitions held for CBSE and state board students. This year in a novel way in order to enable and motivate our children to realize and spring up their innate and hidden talents.
EDUCATIONAL TOUR
“Seeing is believing but experiencing is imbibing”. To broaden the students horizons of knowledge and experience, study tours are arranged every year. This year our class 8th students were taken 5 days on educational tour by flight to amazing destinations of Uttarakhand, such as Dehradun, Haridwar, Rishikesh, Mussori and Delhi. In Delhi we visited the Parliament House, The Rashtriapati Bhavan and India Gate. This heritage monument instilled in our hearts with the feeling of pride and patriotism in our hearts. It was an awesome trip and experienced mesmerizing beauty of nature. Our students were very much impressed and inspired by visiting the IAS Academy and Doom school at Dehradun.
PARENT TEACHER MEET
We firmly believe that positive communication between parents, teachers and management goes along way in improving the efficacy of education. This year the meeting on 27th of July, 31st of August and 26th of October were held successfully which gave us a strong support and strength.
Co – CUURICULAR ACTIVITIES
Co –curriculum activities provides opportunities to the children to bring out their hidden talents. Group wise competitions were conducted throughout the year in various fields. In this regards literary competitions such as Elocution, Essay Writing, Quiz, Poem recitation. Cultural competition, Fancy dress, Dancing, singing, Best out of waste, vegetable carving etc.
E-DAC BADGES DISTRIBUTION
E –DAC is a learning system that makes learning joyous meaningful, and creative for the students. Our school follows E –DAC series, so a few of our meritorious students were awarded with E –DAC badges at different levels.
COMMUNICATION SKILLS
It is activity based learning programs. Effective communicative skills play a significant role in all aspects of life. Communication skill clases are conducted twice in a week included in our curriculum
VALUE EDUCATION
Our school takes special care in imparting value based education with a focus on moulding the character of children. The staff and management pay keen attention to this, by taking value education classes which are included in our curriculum for all the classes also. During routine school assembly students are imbibed the values through messages given by our students of all the classes.
SPORTS AND GAMES
Sports and games are very essential to develop a sound body and sound mind. Every student has been given an opportunity to show their sporting skills during the P.T period and Annual Sports meet. We are indeed lucky to have a big play ground and ample facilities for games in our campus to inculcate the spirit of positive challenges and sports man ship among the students and prepare them for the life a head.
EXTRA CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES :
HEALTH AND HYGIENE
Dignity project was organized on 11/11/2019 in our school which was hosted by healing trained foundation. Around 4200 girls from various schools accompanied by their female teachers attended the programme. Mrs. Upasana Kamineni is an Indian entrepreneur who is the Vice Chairperson of Apollo Life and the Editor-in-Chief of B Positive Magazine was the chief guest of the day and Mrs. Bonthu Sridevi the wife of our city mayor was the guest of honour. They enlightened the gathering by eliciting “I am not for sale”.
MEDICAL CHECK UP
The health camp was conducted by the state Government of Telangana for all the students of L.K.G to 4th Class. In addition to this regular height, weight, chest measurements have been recorded for all the students.
CONCLUSION
Many mile stones still have to be reached. We at St. Theresa’s continue our unceasing efforts to mould the young minds into well balanced personalities with confidence and zeal befitting the standards of this portal of education.
This report is a sincere attempt to show case our progress in terms of achievements and activities during the year. On this memorable occasion as we recount our success with pride and happiness, we wish to dedicate all our achievements to the committed staff of St.Theresa’s secondary school. We humbly salute our visionary leaders of the past and the great ones of the present and seek divine grace and blessings to guide us in all our endeavors.
